Walking out the isle to the guests holding sparklers

Sandra & Dean | Carmen MB

Every couple has their own unique story on how their paths crossed.  Sometimes the paths cross more than once, which is the case with these two.  Seeing these two together was quite captivating and super cute.   I have photographed quite a few back yard weddings over the years but this back yard was a thing of beauty!  Who knew that a small wedding in the middle of Carmen MB could be so amazing!  There was a hand built moon […]

Romantic first kiss in the Parking lot of the Niverville Heritage Centre

Brandy & Sean | Niverville Heritage Centre

Our first time at the Niverville Heritage Centre as a real success.  What a great venue for that romantic ceremony that you always dreamed of.  Brandy and Sean made it their own and had the wedding they always dreamed of.  The ceremony was topped off with a live string and reed band playing from the upper balcony.  These two said their vows with the music ringing in the rafters, and then finished the evening dancing under the hanging string lights […]

walking out the isle holding hands and huge smiles

Tabitha & Matt – Leo Mole Sculpture Gardens

Not every wedding goes as planned.  Sometimes there are hiccups and detours along the way.  These two amazing people have had considerably more than their fair share hiccups and detours.  Through all this crap, they have continued to shine, smile and push their own way through.  They have made their new lives together forged in fire and it can’t get better!  Right from the word go, it just felt natural with Tabitha and Matt.  Their personalities and humour is just […]

the couple kissing from under the veil

Sandra & Tayo | TransCanada Centre

This Nigerian couple, did things with considerably more gusto than the typical weddings we shoot.  I believe that these two families (and maybe all the guests) coordinated their attire, which enabled us to see just how vast these two families were and everyone that supported them.  The brides friends also co-ordinated their outfits which were called Aso ebi.  Aso ebi is an indicator of cooperation and solidarity during ceremonies and festive periods.  All the ladies used the same material to make their own […]

The bride and groom in a old decrepit building

Shannon & Jeremy

From the roots of Scotland these two “tied the knot”.  Literally they performed a handfasting ritual which is where the saying actually came from.  Tying the 3 brands of rope together signifies joining their lives together forever.  Getting married with your closest friends on the “back 40” of a farm yard is great way to go and make it your own.

The beautiful Brianne and Kyle

Brianne & Kyle | Evergreen Village

These two global travellers have begun their own new trip!  Apparently they were bit early with the travel bug and Kyle actually proposed to Brianne in Belgium!  Everything was about travel including the global trivia game to get your table to eat next!  The planning for this wedding started a few years ago and on their day, everything went as planned.  We wish these two all the best in their future travel (and everything else of course)!

David dipping Sam in the garden

Sam & David | Backyard wedding

Back yard weddings are ALWAYS a great time.  I can’t quite put my finger on it.  Whether there is no stress of renting a venue or that travel is some what simplified I just don’t know.  On average I would say they are a little more casual.  Sam and David’s wedding was just that.  Sam got married barefoot, and the dinner at the reception was catered by Little Bones Wings.  Wings, chicken fingers and fries for the reception dinner?  Yes […]

The newly weds sitting in the antique truck

Julie & Darrell | Pine Ridge Golf Club

Julie and Darrell had a “one of a kind” wedding.  All day I kept thinking of the movie Jerry Maguire and the line: “you complete me”.  Well seeing these two together I can see they have the same feeling.  It was a lot of fun getting ready at the Evergreen Gate B & B.  Such a beautiful venue to get ready by the way.  They had also brought a vintage truck from a relative that just fit the bill for […]

Walking down the dirt road to get away from the reception for a bit

Hayley & Cole at Schwabe Farms

Hayley and Cole are a young couple who are madly in love with each other.  These two had the perfect day surrounded by their friends and family.  Sunshine and a  light breeze (light is one way to describe the gale force winds) but that didn’t slow them down.  From getting ready at the amazing Hotel Fort Garry, to the first ever wedding event at the Schwabe Pumpkin Farm and finishing with the family tradition of Chuck Norris Shots!  Oh did […]
